You’ve heard what Sandy has to say. Now see what people across the state say about Sandy’s experience, professionalism, abilities and good judgment.
“Sandra Marcus has served as the County’s full time Court Commissioner for the past eight years. She has presided over thousands of cases in family, small claims, juvenile and mental commitment law. On a daily basis, she has demonstrated the wisdom, fairness and work ethic required of a Circuit Court Judge. It is clearly time to promote Court Commissioner Marcus to Circuit Court Judge.”
–Judge Patrick Brady, Marathon County Circuit Court Branch 5
“Sandy Marcus would be a wonderful Circuit Court Judge. What sets her apart is her proven record of handling a high volume caseload as a judicial officer. Sandy is fair-minded, hard-working and intelligent. I fully support Sandy to be the Branch 5 Circuit Court Judge.”
Judge Jill Falstad, Marathon County Circuit Court Branch 1
“Sandy worked with Ray Thums, Pete Hittner, Brad Kennedy and myself in our law firm. She is very intelligent, analytical, fair and hard working. I’ve appeared before Sandy in her courtroom and observed these same traits in her decision making. No other candidate for Judge Brady’s seat has this experience. I urge all of my past and current clients and friends to join me in supporting and voting for Sandy Marcus for the Branch 5 judge in the primary and final election.”
–Attorney Jerome P. Tlusty
“I’ve known Sandy for over 25 years, ever since we were both new attorneys and both new to Wausau. She has spent the last eight years working as the Marathon County Circuit Court Commissioner who runs a courtroom. Sandy makes decisions in family law cases such as setting child support and deciding child custody and placement. She also makes decisions in small claims trials, traffic cases, mental commitment hearings, juvenile cases, injunctions and other kinds of cases. She does this all week. She’s been doing this daily for the last eight years. She knows how to run a courtroom: to treat litigants respectfully while still moving along the court’s calendar. Her sharp legal intellect and experience mean that she will hit the ground running as the new Branch 5 judge. I urge you to vote for her on February 15, 2011.”
–Attorney Mary M. Hogue
I have known Sandy Marcus for a number of years and have worked with her on church committees as well as having appeared before her in court.
In my opinion Sandy is very intelligent, thoughtful, insightful, and fair. She has the ability to balance compassion with a no nonsense approach. She also has an incredible work ethic.
Sandy, acting as a Court Commissioner has been essentially doing the job she now seeks for years.
It is impressive to see Sandy work and move hundreds of cases through the legal system very quickly and leave everybody feeling that they got a fair shake.
I have often thought that one of the hardest jobs one could have is to be a County Court judge. The decisions that have to be made, especially in family court, can be heart wrenching.
If I had a contested matter that was very important to me, I would be anxious to have Sandy be the adjudicator.
We have the rare opportunity to elect someone who is not simply the lesser of the evils, but someone who is actually very good at her job, and someone who seems to be made for it.
Please make it a point to vote for Sandy in the often thinly attended spring election.
