Thank you so much for your support.  I didn’t win the election, but I sure won when it comes to having great friends and supporters.  It’s been a long campaign and we all worked hard.  I am grateful to all of you for your efforts.  I wish Mike the best in his new role as a Marathon County Circuit Court Judge.

We have all worked hard for months.  Now, it’s time to make sure we bring home the victory.  Please vote-and please encourage everyone you know to do the same.  We will be gathering at the Glass Hat, 1203 N. 3rd Street, on Tuesday night at about 9 p.m.  Thank you for the work, encouragement and support.  I have the BEST supporters!

We are rapidly nearing the general election on April 5th.  Postcards are ready if you are willing to send them to your friends/family/colleagues.  All you have to do is write a quick note encouraging them to vote for me.  Please contact me via the website to request them, tell me how many you are able to send, and I will get them to you.  Thank you, again, for your support!

Last week gave us hope for spring-however momentarily.  Even though I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life, I still fall for that little trick mother nature seems to pull on us every year.  One week of above 30 degree weather and I think that maybe, just maybe, spring will come early this year.  Once again, it didn’t happen.  So, as I was out meeting folks this weekend and it began to snow, I told myself to enjoy the beauty of a snowfall, the clear brisk (alright, to be honest it was just plain cold) day.  It almost worked.  But I’m still looking forward to warmer temperatures and a gentle spring rain.

The primary election is next Tuesday and the momentum has been building.  Thank you all for your support throughout the time leading up to the primary.  Now let’s make sure that we vote next Tuesday and that we encourage our friends, family and colleagues to do the same.  Every vote makes a difference!

As my son and I travelled for the Christmas holiday, I was reminded again of all who work weekends and holidays to make people like me safe, healthy and comfortable.  I am grateful to the folks who make sure that I can get fuel for the trip, the road crews who come out when the roads get slippery, the law enforcement officers and firefighters who are there in the event of an emergency, and those who work in the health care setting.  I made an unanticipated visit to the hospital with my mom on Christmas day.  It turned out that she is o.k., but it was an up close and personal look at how some health care professionals spent their holiday away from their families and caring for mine.   They did so with the highest degree of skill and with amazing kindness.  So, as 2010 turns to 2011 and I have the day off, I want to take this opportunity to thank those who will work and the families who will celebrate the New Year without them.  Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy 2011!

Everything that is going to get done is now done.  It’s time to sit back, join with family and friends and enjoy the benefits of all the preparation.  I wish you and those you care for a very merry Christmas!
